Recently MTNL has slashed STD rates drastically. Now STD charges from Landline phone varies from 80 paise to Rs. 1.20/ minute which is lowest vis a vis private operators. STD call rate from Dolphin, Trump and Garuda Mobile has been reduced to Rs. 1.30 / minute.

MTNL broadband service under the brand name 'Triband' has become extremely popular and MTNL is thankful to all Mumbaikars for the overwhelming response. We have already crossed 3.1 Lakh broadband customers. We are providing host of services on MTNL Next Generation Landline using broadband Service. We are also providing VoIP based Phone – to – Phone International calling service named Netfone, over broadband line where we offer ISD calls to over 100 countries at Re 1/ min. In March 2008 MTNL had achieved another milestone with the launch of its Video Phone Service (V Spyk) on the broadband platform. To give better content offering to our broadband customers we have launched a co-branded portal with AOL http://mtnl.aol.in. We also offer online gaming services with the brand name Games On Demand (GOD).

MTNL became the 1st service provider in India to start IPTV service. IPTV combines the best of television and Internet providing video on demand service which allows the subscriber to pause, play and fast-forward movies and songs at will; a feature which is not available in cable TV. IPTV scores over DTH and CAS on grounds of interactivity and two way interface between the subscriber and service provider. This interactivity in future will allow users to take benefit of services like e-learning, online gaming on TV sets and host of other services. IPTV has truly offered viewers a better choice with digital quality picture and crystal clear stereophonic sound.

MTNL's Dolphin & Trump services are very popular among Mumbaikars and there has been an ever growing demand for these services. Our growth in GSM has been significant during recent past and we are poised for big jump in this segment. We have started unique loyalty scheme for MTNL customers where we are offering free Trump Mobile connection to all existing MTNL customers. We are currently focusing on providing more and more value added service to our mobile customers. We have re-branded GPRS/EDGE services as ‘MTNL Mobile Internet’ service where users can send/receive emails and browse the internet along with a host of other features. For our efforts MTNL has been rated No.1 in value added services category by Voice & Data Mobile User Satisfaction Survey (April 2008).

In our CDMA –1X Garuda services we have newly unveiled the Garuda colour camera phone with just Rs 1499. And the unlimited calling plans are very popular. Also, to encourage entrepreneurship we have launched the fixed wireless PCO which helps small entrepreneurs to earn returns up to 60%.
