SHIFTING OF TELEPHONE

Internal & External Shifts of Telephones

Internal Shifts : When a telephone is shifted from one position to another in the same room it is known as internal shift.
External Shifts :When a telephone is shifted from one room to another or from one building to another building in the same locality or different locality, it is called as external shift.

External shifts are of the following types:

Shifts Within the same exchange area. Shifts from one exchange area to the another exchange area in multi exchange system. All India Shift. a)Shift within the same exchange area is permissible irrespective of the period for which the telephone connection has been working. b) Shift from one exchange area to another exchange area is permissible if the registration date of initial application for the telephone connection required to be shifted falls within the release period of the specific category pertaining to the exchange area to which it is required to be shifted (or) The telephone required to be shifted has already worked for minimum period of 6 months in case of OYT category and 1 1/2 year in case of Non-OYT General /Special category in the exchange area from where it is required to be shifted.

Shifting of telephone on All -India basis: Telephone can be shifted on All-India basis as per the conditions existing for shifting of telephones within Multiexchange area. The application form (free of charge) can be obtained from the Area G.M's office/Shift Officer of Area on demand and completed form is to submitted to the Shift Officer of the area from where the telephone is to be shifted.

Shifting Charges a)From one position to another in the same room   Rs. 75/- b)In all other cases of local shift   Rs.600/- Incase of (b) a rebate of Rs. 300/- is allowed if subscriber arranges own internal wiring.

USE OF PHONE BY TENANT

• Permissible will be sent in the name of tenant. Correspondence entertained with landlord. Landlord to give undertaking for responsibility of payment of all telephone dues. Prescribed forms are available at Q.C.S.C.
• Permission fee is Rs. 100/-
