MTNL is bringing out a periodically updated phone directory on CD - ROM to facilitate customer convenience. The CD an electronic replica of the printed directory is priced at Rs.50/- each. Suitable discounts are also offered on bulk purchase. The CD-ROM Telephone directory of MTNL gives the customer fast and convenient search facilities right on his customer screen. The CD ROM directory not only enables users to search phone numbers of specific persons or organisations, but also give full address of the said person or organisation . The CD-ROM is available at Quick Customer Service (QCS) Centers.

ON-LINE Directory Information Service

Simply dial 24316197 from your PC via a modem,when prompted give Login = pstndq and get connected to the Computerised Directory information System of MTNL And, at the cost of only a local call. MTNL Mumbai's Telephone Directory enquiry service is now avaliable through data communication on PSTN on telephone number 24316197.

Procedure to use Directory Service

The entries appearing in the printed telephone directory are classified into following different categories and may be enquired by different enquiry types as given below.
GROUP ENQUIRY (GR) is meant queries regarding large commercial organisations, government department, etc (PABX Entries).
TELEPHONE ENQUIRY (TE) is usd to display the name and address details of subscribers by giving the telephone number as input.
OLD TELEPHONE ENQUIRY (OT) is used for displaying the new telephone number of subscribers along with name and address, if the telephone number is changed for any reason. Input required is old telephone number.
STD ENQUIRY(ST) is meant for finding STD/ISD codes.
