Shifting of Telephone Connection

Q: What is meant by shift of a telephone ?

A: Shift of a telephone means a change in the location of a telephone connection. The types of shift and conditions governing are given below:

Shifting of a Working Telephone Connection

1. Shift within the same exchange area (local shift) Permissible 600 Apply on a prescribed application form available free of cost at divisional Customer Service Centre. The application duly signed by the original applicant to be submitted at divisional CSC well in advance.

2. Shift of telephone from one exchange in Delhi (Inter exchange shift) Permissible
i) if the date of registration of initial application for the telephone connection required to be shifted falls with in the release period of the exchange area to which it is required to be shifted 600 Apply on a prescribed application form available free of cost at divisional Customer Service Centre. The application duly signed by the original applicant to be submitted at divisional CSC well in advance.

3. Shift of telephone to other cities (All India shift) - do - - - do -

Q: What is meant by transfer of a telephone connection?
A: Transfer of a telephone means the change in the name of the subscriber if the telephone is working in the name of an individual an change in name of an individuals and change in name/ constitution/ ownership if the telephone is working in the name of company/ organization/ institution .

Transfer of registration/ telephone

1. Change of name due to marriage. 100 Apply on a prescribed application form at area CSC.

2. Change in name /constitution of the Firm, Companies, Organization, Institutions, etc. 100 Apply on a prescribed application form at area CSC along with agreement sand affidavit.

3. Sale or dissolution of Firm. 100 - do -

4. Transfer of telephone to legal heir/ successor in the case of death of the owner. 100 Apply on a prescribed application form at area CSC along with the supporting documents.

5. Transfer of telephone to blood relations i.e. father, mother, wife, husband, son, daughter, brother and sister, during the lifetime of the owner. 100 - do -

6. Transfer of telephone to third party. 500 Apply on a prescribed application form, available free of cost along with requisite documents at area CSC. Balance of the deposit will be refunded to the transferor after deduction of outstanding dues. The transferor will make payment of advance/ security deposit for the remaining period under the scheme.
