Configuring Dialup Networking

These pages will tell you how to install "Client for Microsoft Networks", "Dial-Up Adapter", and "TCP/IP". All of which are needed to use "Dial-up Networking" with your Internet account. Please have your Windows 95 CD-ROM or Disks available. Depending on the installation of Windows they may be needed.

Installing Network Components

Double click on "My Computer", then double click on "Control Panel". Then double click on the "Network" icons, this will bring up the "Network Configuration" screen listing what is already installed on your computer. This is probably good time to click on the "Identification" tab where you will give your computer a name. You will also create a workgroup name. The name you choose here isn't important. Then click on the "Configuration " tab again.



Next click on the "Add" buttton.
