_INTRODUCTION

Inet is India's X.25 based Packet Switched Public Data Network. It provides high speed connectivity between computers /terminals.

Inet is based on Packet Switching technology with error free transmission (BER better than 1 in 109) with dynamic re-routing of calls (in case of route failures and congestion) and inter-connection of computers/terminals at different speeds and protocols.

Inet (Phase II) has been set up to cover more than 100 cities of the country in phased manner. These cities have been categorized into three groups on the basis of business activity and demand for different type of Inet connections and facilities. The cities covered under these Groups are listed below:

Group-A :
