NATIONAL SUBSCRIBER DIALLING

General

More popularly known as STD (Subscriber Trunk Dialling ). This facilities the subscribers of MTNL Mumbai having STD facility on their telephones, to directly dial any number to the cities

Method of Dialling

They should first dial the code of the station and then the desired number.

Charging of NSD Calls

NSD calls are metered periodically based on full rate or concessional rates depending upon distance of the called station and the time of making the call as per four tier tariff, shown under concessional tariff table . On answering by the called party one unit is registered immediately. Subsequent units depend on the pulse rate and call duration. Dial 182 for further information regarding station Codes /Tariff.

Disconnection of NSD calls

To ensure disconnection at the end of NSD call replace handset on hook switch and lift again to listen for the dial tone. In the absence of dial tone report the matter to the concerned DE Incharge of Internal maintenance.

To make the NSD Code Table more readable, these Five pulse rate groups have been replaced by a number from 1 to 5 as per the scheme given below :
