VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK (VPN)

Now corporate and group of Telephone subscribers can have the of extended “ CUG “ Facility on their existing land line connections of MTNL Mumbai net-work.

As the name implies a Virtual Private Network is imaginary network within a real network, i.e. it gives the service user the feeling of in-house connections to any destination within MTNL Mumbai landline network. VPN service is best suited for corporate and consortia having significant traffic between their corporate sites to configure and use switched carrier circuits as if they are their dedicated private lines.

Corporates and others can subscribe to VPN service i.e. they can have their own VPN network by utilizing the existing telephone lines or by taking new telephone connections. Telephone connections put on VPN network can also be used as normal telephone connections.

Features and Facilities

• VPN subscribers can have extension dialing facility by becoming a member of VPN .
• There is no need for VPN subscribers to take leased lines between their locations and therefore they are free from problems associated with leased lines.
• VPN subscribers can have their own private numbering plan.
• Facility exists to change the associated DEL number to an extension either on temporary or permanent basis.

How to subscribe

You can apply on prescribed application form (available free) along with applicable charges in the form of DD/Pay Order/Crossed cheque in favor of MTNL , Mumbai at the following address for raising necessary demand note and issue of work order. Dial 160122. Wait for “Dial your destination number” announcement. Dial the desired extension (VPN No.) to get connected.

Tariff structure for VPN service
