Point-to-Point Circuit/Network

Point-to-Point Circuit/Network

If a data circuit is working between two offices and there are no other circuits working, then this leased circuit is called a Point-to-Point circuit. Any subscriber can take a point-to-point circuit without any permission from the Telecom authorities.

If more than one leased data circuit is working from a place, then it is to be treated as a NETWORK. This needs the approval of the Telecom authority. Earlier, this approval was being given in a centralised place at Delhi for entire India. Recently, the approving powers have been delegated to Individual circles, i.e., MTNL. Mumbai.

Please visit the network chapter of this Web site for information relating the Network approvals.
